Went to Wild Wild Wet last Friday with Jayne, Faith and Gaby. It was pretty fun, but really really tiring. Hahaha... I think I lost steam after the 2nd ride liao, but the gals were soooo excited about going about in the rides, so no choice lah. But it was very entertaining to be with them lah, as usual, their antics, comments, etc... Too bad Joyce couldn't go...

I think I enjoyd the Tsunami the most since I love swimming. The Tsunami is a pool with simulated sea waves every 15 mins (and tastes like the sea too, so salty. I hope it was coz they planned it that way and not coz of.... EWWW!). They provide us with this huge ass floats where we can lie down on and get swept to shore. So when the wave came, i was furiously trying to swim towards to start so i can be swept to shore. So funny, i was flapping my arms and legs, but of coz with direction lah!!! Each time the wave kind subsided, i kicked and flapped and then let the wave carry me over and closer to my end point. The funny thing was when we all finally reached the end, the waves were dying down and so was my energy. In the end, i had to get the 3 gals to pull me to shore instead. Whatta waste of energy. LOL

I was most scared with the "samsung" ride. It looked like a giant A4 paper folded into a V shape, with edges just like the edge of a mahjong table. U get into this float boat thingy (2 person per float) and they push you down from one edge of the V and then u will reach to the tip of the other V and slide down again. OH MY GOODNESS. It was scarier that anything else I have ever ridden before, particularly since it felt like u could fly off this thing anytime since there were no railings around it!! I screamed like CRAZY!!!!!!!!

So anyway, after WWW, we went back to Gaby's place to play Scrabble and wait for our KFC. Got a free 2 piece chicken and zinger and whipped potatoe coz they were firstly late in their delivery, and then the boxes were all so smashed and all, so I called to complain. Hahahaha.. Dunno why nowadays like to call and 'feedback' about ppl's service. LOL

So anyway, later in the night, spent 2 more hours with the gals as they followed us to distribute flyers into ppl's mailbox for sale of my aunt's place. It was pretty fun and much faster than the time the both of us did it by our own at Opera Estate. I guess coz it was in the night so it wasn't too hot (got a sunburn from Opera Estate!) and coz the gals were always so chatty and happy. But it was also quite scary at times coz it was so dark and the dogs were barking, and there were some houses that really looked SO scary that even with the gals around, I din dare to put into the mailbox. Hahahaha... There was this particular house that looked like what you'll see out of ghost movies and the letter box was in this pavillion looking thing. The gals asked me to put it in instead for them, but as i approached, i realised they were all standing as far away as they possible could and i freaked out too!!! What if i get eaten by the house!!!! hahahha

But managed to see really really nice houses as we went along. Some were like SOOOooOOo huge, u'd think they were a lil town by their own. hahaha. The gals were very obedient too, no complains... guess they were excited coz they've never done this before.

Time passed really fast and when it was all done, it seemed so easy

but the next day, i woke up aching EVERYWHERE thanks to the Tsunami pool thingy that we went into. hahaha

Friday was a really good night lah.

Aaaah.... now.... to share about those who make us frown.... You know, all of us are always very sceptical about hiring contractors to do our electrical stuff for us, esp if they're those 'ah-beng' types whereby they dun belong to the larger more stable companies? Well, my experience confirmed my skepticism and while hiring these contractors are cheaper and most of them are pretty safe to hire, i have decided to weigh the decision heavier in future.

Jon and I each bought a second hand air con from this guy named Andrew (NOT my babe Andrew), each at $425, with a 3 year contract. Meaning if there was anything wrong with the air con, he will come fix it or change a 'new' one for us if it's beyond repair. On top of that (since he was recommended by Jon's Mom's fren), i had him service my master room air con and to help me solve the piping prob for the air con in my walk in wardrobe (he actually drilled a hole outwards so the water would actually drip out instead of putting it into a container and then having to throw it away which is super mafan)

Ok throughout the mth that we bought it, the air con just kept giving us probs, esp for jon....each time we called the guy, he would say ok, he'll come at a certain time... but when it came to that time, he will be late. And we'll only find out that he's late only WHEN WE CALLED him. GOSH! Then he'll say, "oh, sorry, i'll be there only one hour later.. bla bla bla". Or he would last min change the timing when we've already arranged it properly. Sigh... Then when he came, he would give stupid reasons as to why the air con wasn't working.

The last straw came when Jon's air con just died on him for no reason. At first, Andrew said it was coz some loose cable, so he supposedly came to 'change' the cable. Then it still died, then he said it was the mother board. By then (see my stories below), we had gotten very sian of his excuses and told him it was the last time we were letting him fix this air con since it had caused nothing but inconvenience throughout the mth tt we had gotten it. He said after he fix the motherboard, it shd be fine, and even tried to gain sympathy by telling us that by right the guy who sold him the air con only gave him 3 mth warranty but he gave us 3 years (is that MY problem?!?!?!) and that he had spent $80 on the new motherboard (is that MY problem too?!?!?!) The night itself that he 'fixed' it, it was WORST!!!!! Cannot be turned on and no light indicater, no response at all!!! GOSH

Anyway, now's the story of my air cons. The 2nd hand air con was leaking really badly towards the outside and when i told andrew about it, he said couldn't be, so came to fix it. The next day, it leaked again on the outside. Came to fix it, then... it leaked again, this time ON THE INSIDE!!!!! ARGH. Then when he came down, he realised he din put some stopped or something, so he went down, got a stopped and put it in place. The next day, it leaked still!!!! Luckily i din remove the pail!!!! And u know wat he told me when i called him??!?!?! "Oh, coz the other day, the stopper i put wasn't the correct one. I'll put in the correct one this time." OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! He sommore dare to admit he did a slipshot work. Right to me!! GOSH

So we decided to return him BOTH air cons and i demanded to cancel my year contract with him to service my air con coz i was so fed up with his stupid excuses and his yo-yo timing with no respect for our timing, and all his pathetic inconvenience that he has caused us. Wrote him a sms to ask him for all the refund back and to think he had the cheek to say that asking back for money for my perfectly alright air con was unfair! I told him, i can leave the air con at my place but i can guarantee within 2 weeks it'll give me problems, so why not just spare me all the further trouble!!!!

Anyway, yesterday morning, Jon said he was feeling a lil bad that I was returning mine too since mine had less trouble.... Well, i guess he changed his mind in the afternoon, coz we were in the midst of converting the walk in wardroom to fit in our 'office' stuff when the air con that Andrew supposedly fixed a pipe leading out of the house (so i wun have to put in the box) LEAKED.

So stupid.

Gonna get everything back tomorrow. Hopefully that's the end of this Andrew. URGH

My lil sister's graduation is TODAY!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Awww.... all grown up and sommore on Dean's List man!

Still remember when she was younger, everytime dun wanna study or do her homework. LOL. Only play play play, eat sweet, hide in room, buy stationery, etc.

Suddenly, voila! Doing so well in the uni and all.

SO PROUD of her!!!!!! :-p

Going into JB today for her graduation dinner at Pan Pac.

Only sad thing is kong2 can't be around to be with us on her graduation. But I know he is smiling down from the heavens and definitely proud of his granddaughter!!!

It's exactly a week since my kong2's funeral last week.

It still feels sooo surreal that he is no longer around. I know that when he as still around, I only got to see him once in about 2 weeks whenever i got back to JB. But it just still feels so weird that he's gone.

It is as if he never ever really existed and it was all a dream. So funny how life is.

I thought about him a lot a lot this week. Sometimes when I'm doing something, I will suddenly think of him and what he was like in the past. it still hurts so much, knowing that I will never be able to call his name out loud and see his smile and hold his hand and talk to him.

I know life has to go on. I dunno when it'll stop hurting. After all, i've known him for all my life now and it seems strange to just not have him around anymore. Sigh....

Anyway, now that i'm left with one and only grandparent and i'm gonna make it a point to cherish and shower her with loads of love and attention. After all, i'm sure for the past 4 years, she had been working really hard in the shadows of my grandpa coz he was ill and she had to take care of him. I just hope that for the coming years, she'll be strong enough so i can really pamper her.

My Grandparents on Kong2's bday 2005

I was the luckiest one amidst my cousins who were gathered at the wake as I was the oldest grandchild there (i'm the 2nd eldest cousin but the eldest one wasn't there and din have that much time to spend with my granddad when he was alive anyway).

I had the opportunity to know and love my kong2-- the greatest granddad one could have-- the longest.

My kong2 is a jovial, patient, caring, loving and creative man.

I remember that he i always wanting to fix things right for us. Like when I was aching all over (which happens a lot), he will get the "koyok" (the traditional salonpas) and heat it up and put it on the areas that I was aching so i would ache less. Or whenever I sprained/strained my ankle and it hurt, he would play physician and massage it for me. When my shoe comes apart, kong2 will find glue and fix it for me so I can wear it again. Kong2 was always trying to make sure that we are well taken care of by trying to fix things right for us. My kong2 is a very patient man and it showed in the way he treated my granny- with respect and love, never raising his voice at her, no matter wat happens. It always amazes me how patient he can be.

When my grandparents grew older and it was my turn to bring my kong2 out, and I always looked forward to those times coz it was always fun to bring them out, to talk to him and to listen to what he had to say. My kong2 was always full of praise of me, always showing that he was very proud of me, even to the littlest things like driving and all. He would never fail to tell it to my mom or me personally.

As my kong2 grew sicker, he was still that obliging and nice person. Everytime I come back and would stand at the gate to shout "Mama, Kong2, Kai Men", I would always walk into the house to see his big smile and him calling me "Ming Ming". Or when he was sleeping, he would wake up and still have that huge smile on his face and call me as soon as he recognized me.

When kong2 was in the hospital, my mommy told me that he refused to nod or acknowledge anyone that morning. When I arrived, I tried callin his name numerous times, and i guess he din want me to worry so he opened his eyes and nodded. That's how nice my kong2 is. He'd rather suffer and not let us worry about him.

I will never ever forget my kong2 and all that he ever was. I love you my everdearest kong2!

**Had a chance to speak this at my kong's 3rd night of wake. Can't really recall the exact stuff i said but this is close to it.

My kong2 passed away peacefully just a few mins to midnight on August 4 2008. He had almost the whole family with him when he left- probably the best way anyone could ask to leave this world. He was buried on 080808 at the KongKong Cemetery at Masai. It's so surreal to lose him, but I guess that's life. It will take time to heal this hurt of losing my everdearest granddad but time will never take away what he was to me.

Bittersweet Close

I had my first close approx 2 weeks ago. That was went my grandad first got admitted into hospital, supposedly for blood transfusion or some sorts. Went in the next day to see him and heard that initially he din wanna nod or acknowledge anyone except for the doc when he made his rounds. That's my grandad, always so obliging even when he himself is suffering. When I arrived, i tried to call him and all and initially he din answer but after a few attempts, he opened his eyes, looked at me and nodded. I was so happy but yet so sad to see him suffer like this.

He has always been a fantastic grandad, the best one could possibly have. As far as I can remember, he is always jovial and patient and willing to do things for us at the snap of a finger. Slow to anger, quick to love. That's wat breaks my heart further to see him suffer so much.

His health got worst in 2004, when i graduated from Uni, and according to my aunt, he hung on for all of us to make us feel better, eventho he himself was suffering. Then 4 years later, it's my sister's turn to graduate and his health is worst now. It seems he keeps waiting to see us graduate and all before he goes. I told my aunt to negotiate with him to stay on and wait for me to get married, but i guess it's too painful to see him suffer lah. My aunt says the most saddening part is him not being able to witness any of his grandchildren getting married. I told her that there was one grandchild that got married, but this grandchild din even bother notifying her grandparents when she got married, and din even bother asking them to witness her ROM. Sigh. That's wat makes me even sadder for my grandpapa, since I know he loves each and every one of his grandchildren a lot!

Just yesterday, my grandad's health took an even worst turn and it seems that it's like the point of the end... I've never really had someone this close to me leave me and I really dunno how it's gonna be like coping with it, esp it's someone who I've known my entire life and have been really close with. i still remember the times when I would come back for the weekends during my JC days and bring my grandparents out for lunch and shopping and all. Those days slowly became just dropping by their place to see them eversince my grandad was unable to have much energy to walk that much. I also remember that my grandad was always ever so proud of watever i do, always telling my granny and my mom that i was a good driver, bla bla bla... always so full of praise and love.

Now, seeing him suffer so much, i feel sooooo sad for him, and so helpless coz i dunno wat to do. I just embarked on a new journey and hope that he will be there to share my new achievements; but my first achievement came with such bittersweet feeling. All i can do is pray and pray that somehow this situation will get better altho i dunno how that could be possible. I dun want him to suffer anymore, but that may mean him leaving all of us. Sigh....

Please Lord, watch over him and take away his suffering for he is the best grandad a person could ever have, so patient, caring, always obliging and smiling. Never quick to temper, always quick to love. Always there whenever we need him and never making a noise of complaint. Always loving you and showing this through his ways. Please be with him and take good care of him because only you can do the miracles that none of us can.

LOL. I'm not 16. LOL. My bday was so very sweet tho. hehehe....

My bday was on a Tues this year, and Jon had booked me for Monday evening and Tuesday whole day. My aunt msgd me over the weekend for a dinner that i had failed to go to many times, so Jon sweetly (yes, gonna repeat this word so many times! lol) said that we can go for the dinner and then after that we'll continue on with his plans.

Ok, so was supposed to meet Jon at City hall after his work on monday to walk over to Suntec where we were supposed to meet my family. In the end, he said his 'men' (errr, his army subordinate or something lah) was sending him to suntec directly. So in the end, i was about to set off on my own when my aunt teng called and said she was still at work and i had to go over, pick up the car and the kids and to go to suntec from there, which was quite good for me so that i din have to take the train then walk. hehehe...

Arrived at Kuishinbo super early, but we had a table already, so the kids started eating while i waited for Jon, who came about 15 mins later and we started eating too. By the time aunt teng2 and uncle woon arrived, we were lik 98% full. and Aunt Mamek (which was supposed to be treating us) have yet to arrive! LOL. In the end, Aunt Mamek and Uncle Michael came in time just to pay! Felt so bad for that, but wat to do, they were caught in the traffic jam and all, coming in from Batu Pahat. Wow, i was so touched that they'd drive 2-3 hours to reach here to pay and then drive back again 2-3 hours!!!!!! Just to pay for our dinner. heheheh

Anyway, after dinner, Jon and my cousins played futzball (dunno how to spell this) for free at the 'playground' at Suntec while i got myself a new pair of shoes. my fav pair fell apart at the buffet!!! :-(

After that, we went on for the night, and caught the movie "Red Cliff". It was a gory but nice show (teased jon that on my bday he brings me to a bloody movie. lol) and the by the time the show ended, it was already 11.50pm. I was wondering whether i had to celebrate my bday in the taxi on the way home since Jon din drive... Anyway, i mindlessly followed jon to the lift, thinking we're taking a cab home, when he leads me to B2. Hmm... suspicious eh. Hahaha.. it turned out he rented a car for my bday! So thoughtful eh? So i got into the car and he went to the boot and popped open it, revealing 4 helium brithday balloons! He then gave me roses and a really touching card. Awwww... Just in time when it turned 12!!!! SWEET!!!!

Next on, he brought me over to Pasir Ris, where I found two pressies on his table waiting for me. Thought it was from him (he din gimme the pressie in the car), but it was from his mom and lil sis Gaby. Awwww... As i was occupied opening my pressies, he got my cake ready! hahaha... My baby then sang me my bday song and i blew out the candles after making my wish. Next up, he gave me a certificate from SK Jewellery. It was for a diamond ring. That was my bday pressie!!!! Wow! LOL. It was a VERY sweet ring (am missing it now coz we sent it back to have it carved) Will post pics up soon.

Anyway, the next morning, around 11am, he drove me to the Bukit Timah area for brunch at the Greenwood Fish Market. When we entered the place, ewwww, smell of fish!!! hahaha... but it was REALLY interesting coz everything there was super huge from the fish, to the clams, to the prawns, etc etc etc. The food was really good too!!! Definitely a place to revisit again.

After lunch, we caught another show. This time it's "10 promises to my dog". LOL. A touching show about dog being man's best fren. Needless to say, it died in the end out of old age. So sad u know! I commented that for my bday Jon took me to first watch a gory bloodied movie, then a crying movie. How nice of him. LOL

When the movie ended, Jon brought me on the Singapore Flyer. errr... i must say that halfway thru, i got a lil bored but since I was with my beloved, things were much better! Took a couple of pics and all and soon the ride was over and it was dinner time. We had ITALIAN!!! Yum Yum Yum! Had caprese (not as good as spizza's tho), and then shared a salami+chilli pizza and a cheese tortellini pasta dish. Very good! Yum!!!

And so my bday celebration planned by Jon ended. But it was a really REALLY good one. :-) So proud of my baby for taking so much effort to plan this!

The next day, we went into JB to have dinner with my parents. What can I say, happiness is spending your bday with your most beloved ppl--- your loved one and your family. hehehe

Blown Over.

Those are the words I would use to describe the experience Jon and I had during the Guerilla Business Intensive course.

WHOA.

It was really really intensive but yet every single session was like a pure gold mine. Information after information about marketing and business ideas just kept pouring in! It was also very interactive so every step we went, we got to pause and think about our current plans and how to improve on them. It was a really effective conference!

Remember I mentioned how worried I was coz I was gonna embark on the property career but have no idea where to start? Now I have so many ideas I just hope that I dun lose track of them. The best part is the ideas that Harv taught us have all been proven!!! hehehe...

Am writing this really quickly coz I need to rush out to collect my last pay cheque from Muse Inc...

Anyway, Jon and i got free tickets to the next course. i know wat some of u are thinking... We are NOT turning into conference addicts. hahahaha.... It's just that this course turned out to be so useful that I think the "Millionaire Mind Intensive" course will really help as well! It is supposed to help determine your current millionaire blueprint and give you ideas on how to improve on it to reach your goals.

I also signed up as a ranger coz i thought that i could make use of the opportunity to extend the invitation (for free-- The original price to this conference is USD$1,250!) to my frens and loved ones (they only need to pay for the course materials of SGD$250, with a rebate of $50 at the end of the course). is that cool or wat!?

I'll be attending the one from Nov 7-9 2008 in Singapore, but if you're staying overseas and would like to attend, I think i could get you this deal too!!!! they have one in London in April and many around US (will get the dates and post here).
